Judge Statement about the selection of the awards for this exhibit:
"In reviewing the work, I was amazed at the incredibly high number of pieces that were very tight, extremely traditional works. These emit a sense of mastery in drawing and medium. A few works communicated the artist's stroke and interaction with surface and medium, a delight to view. All of the works I viewed are well executed, strong pieces. I sought the voice of the artist. Who communicated the story, the quiet, the sun, the cold, the movement, the stillness, the eternal quest? Congratulations to all of the 150 finalists. You are true masters."- Karen Vernon
