Charles Harrington

Charles Harrington is a retired university professor.  His formal education and his work experience include both art and architecture. After working 15 years as an architectural designer and illustrator, he accepted a faculty position at Louisiana Tech University teaching in the School of Art and Architecture where he spent 23 years teaching in both disciplines.  This gave him a unique opportunity to pursue both of his passions, fine art and architecture, in the same venue. Charles left academia in 2003 to pursue fine art full time. He devotes his time to painting, writing, and conducting painting workshops.

His paintings have been collected by individuals and notable corporate and institutional clients, including the Dunnegan Gallery of Art. Other collectors of note include The Arkansas Governor's Mansion, The Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Institute, The University of Arkansas Medical School in Fayatteville, and the main hospital of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Charles is a Signature Member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS). He is also an Artist Member of the American Watercolor Society (DF), The International Society of Acrylic Painters, and The National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylics where he was the recipient of both Gold and Silver medals.

Publications include American Artist, American Artist“s Workshop, American Artist“s Watercolor, American Artist“s Highlights, Acrylic Artist, Watercolor Magic, and Artist Magazines.  His first book, Acrylics The Watercolor Alternative, was released by North Light Books, August 2005.
