Thomas Tierney
Judge, The Best of America! 2011 Exhibit
Tom Tierney received his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1976 and has been involved in magazine publishing for more than twenty-five years. Since 1987, he and his business partner, Allan Duerr, have published Art of the West magazine.
Tom has judged many, many art shows, including the C.M. Russell Auction, the Arts for the Parks, the Amarillo Rotary Art Show, and the Northwest Rendezvous Show. In 2008, Tom and his partner received the John J. Geraghty Award from the Autry National Center in Los Angeles, California. This award was given to Tom and Allan by the Autry Museum's Board of Trustees in recognition of their advancement of contemporary Western art.
Tom and his wife, Lori, have been married more than thirty years and have three children. They reside in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
